You never know what will come up in conversation when you sit down at the table with friends and break bread. More often than not, it’s innocuous anecdotes—what happened that day, how things are going at work. But that’s definitely not the case during Dinner with Friends at Everyman Theatre.
The stage is set when married couple Beth and Tom join their food-writer friends, Gabe and Karen, for a meal at their home. This isn’t the first time the quartet has shared dinner, but it is the first time Beth reveals that Tom has floated the idea of divorce. Gabe and Karen are understandably shocked, and it leaves them with some questions to answer. Surprisingly, moments of humor ensue. You can come see Dinner with Friends now through April 7th. Tickets start at $43.
