Its Memorial Day Weekend—a time to remember and honor those who have served our country, as well as the start of beach season for many. You may be looking to get out of town for the weekend, but even if you can’t get away for the whole weekend, there are plenty of ways to make the most of the long weekend.
The Beach in Baltimore
If you are unable to make it to the beach this weekend, you can still get your toes in the sand with stone painting at Sandlot. Come for a fun and different way to start your day, Saturday morning from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
The Local Wildlife
Have some fun for a good cause and support the Maryland Zoo at Brew at the Zoo. Stop by either Saturday, Sunday, or both for some live music, unlimited beer sampling, and all day zoo access!
Become a mixologist in just 90 minutes at Sagamore Spirit. Check out Craft Your Own Cocktail Friday night from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Tickets are $25 and the event includes a 30 minute distillery tour, followed by a cocktail making course.
If you would rather have a chill Friday night, stop by the Baltimore Museum of Art for Art After Hours from 8:00 to 11:00pm. The event includes gallery access, cocktails, food, live music, and more.
While you’re celebrating America this weekend, also celebrate one of Maryland’s favorite pastimes at a Crab Feast, Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00pm. Come to Ampersea to enjoy the beautiful waterfront views and all you can eat crab, with more bottomless meal options available as well.
Hit the Seas
You can still make it to the water without leaving Baltimore by taking a kayak tour. Offered on Sundays at 9:00am and 1:00pm, see Charm City from a whole new perspective while enjoying the first bits of summer on the water.
Find Your Inner Yogi
Take this Memorial Day weekend to relax with yoga! Whether you tend to be an early bird or a night owl, there is a perfect class for you. For morning people, classes are offered poolside at the Sagamore Pendry and at the Patterson Park Pagoda Saturday morning from 8:00 to 9:00am. If you want to unwind after long day, check out Sundown Sunday at M.Power Yoga Studio at 7:00pm.
If you are looking to get out of town for the day and stick to your budget, you don’t have to cross the Bay Bridge to make it to Chesapeake Beach. Less than an hour away, this cute beach town has plenty to offer, including boating rentals and a waterpark.
You can also go tubing at Gunpowder Falls State Park. Located only half an hour away, tubing is a great way to unwind and enjoy the outdoors this weekend.
Whether you are going out of town, or looking to stay local, there are plenty of great options for you to enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend.
