June 3rd, 2020
Honor America’s favorite treat on June 5th, National Donut Day! National Donut Day is on the first Friday in June each year and began in 1938 as a Salvation Army fundraiser, nearly a century after the first donut was made and 18 years after the first donut machine was created in 1920. With the process of re-opening beginning, local businesses need our help now more than ever, and plenty of local donut shops are ready to celebrate National Donut Day with you!
Diablo Donuts is known for their fun, creative donuts, with specialty donuts including Berry Cheesecake, Dunkaroos, and Crème Brulee! Order up to three days in advance for pick up, beginning at 9am.
Donut Alliance is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10-3, serving unique donuts such as Peanut Butter and Jelly and Pink Lemonade! You can either call ahead and order for pick-up if you already know what you want, or stop by the store and check out all of the delicious options before placing your order.
Full Circle Artisan Palace
Full Circle makes one of a kind donuts that you can’t find anywhere else, with unique flavors including Burnt Honey Earl Grey, Blue Raspberry Sweet Tart, and Softshell Wonton Crabmeat donuts that are even shaped like crabs! Full Circle is open weekends from 9am-1pm, as well as Tuesday evenings from 5-7pm for a midweek pick-me-up! You can preorder via email or Instagram DM.
Check out Harmony Bakery for delicious vegan and gluten-free treats! Known for their signature cinnamon sugar and chocolate glazed donuts, Harmony is open Thursday-Sunday, and orders can be placed online for pick-up at any time during store hours!
Supporting local businesses is always the best option, but if you can’t make it to one of the above shops, nearby Dunkin’ Donuts is offering free donuts with any beverage purchase on National Donut Day.
We hope you have a delicious time celebrating!
